Gunsmith Services
Texas Gun Club is proud to provide a full-service gunsmith shop for our members and customers. We provide everything from simple cleaning and installing sights to repairing complex problems and making custom parts for antique guns.
Our in-house staff includes a certified gunsmith and certified armorers. In addition to our in-house staff, we have a team of specialists which includes a certified Cerakote applicator, a custom polymer specialist, and a metal-bluing specialty. Our team can do almost anything you want or need. Stop by and meet our gunsmith staff.
Gun Repair
Our staff is highly trained in firearms design, function, and repair. We can diagnose your gun issues and provide a professional solution to your concerns. We work on revolvers, semi-auto pistols, rifles, shotguns, and semi-auto and full-auto AR-type platforms.
Common services we perform include extractor/ejector repairs, correcting feeding malfunctions, tuning revolvers, correcting firing malfunctions, straightening revolver cranes, and correcting cycling malfunctions on AR-type rifles, just to name a few. In addition to repairs, we accurize rifles, improve triggers, install long-gun sling swivels, cut and crown barrels, install shotgun beads, install new sights, lap scope mounts, and much more.
Gun Refinishing and Restoration
We specialize in gun refinishing and restoration. Suppose your gun has been damaged by water, fire, hard use, or neglect. In that case, we can typically bring it back to life and, in many cases, restore it to its original condition.
If your wood stock needs repair and refinishing, we can do it. If your barrel and receiver need to be re-blued or painted using Cerakote technology, we can do it. If rust has damaged your metal surfaces, we can typically provide 80% (or better) restoration of the metal.
Don’t give up on that family heirloom or that 100-year-old shotgun. Bring it by so we can look at it and tell you the potential for restoration.
Gun Customization
Maybe you want to thread your long-gun barrel for a suppressor or other muzzle device. We can thread barrels for whatever type of device you want to add.
Maybe you want to stipple your polymer handgun frame to improve the grip or increase the “coolness” factor. And perhaps you want to port your slide. We can do it for you.
Maybe you want to paint your gun some unique or exciting colors. We offer a wide array of Cerakote colors and finishes to make your gun “one-of-a-kind.”
Visit us and tell us about your vision for how you would like to customize your gun.
Gun Building
Have you been considering building your AR-15, AK-47, or 1911? Maybe even a Remington 700 custom rifle? We offer “build” classes and instruction. We will guide you through the process using one of many “build Kits” or your custom plan (if approved). Please review our training calendar for upcoming classes or stop by and speak with our gunsmith about one-on-one instruction. We will help ensure everything is built to the proper specifications and is safe to shoot. By building your gun, you will gain a whole new level of firearm knowledge and equipment.
Gun Appraisal
Our gunsmith is also a Certified Firearms Appraiser. We can provide you with the appraised value and documentation if you have valuable firearms that need appraising for insurance purposes. We can also deliver the appraisal you need if you are responsible for managing or liquidating an estate. Looking for documentation to know what that favorite family heirloom is worth? See us for a Certified Firearms Appraisal.
Gun Cleaning and maintenance training
Watch our training calendar, and you will see a variety of classes on how to clean and maintain handguns, shotguns, precision rifles, and AR-type rifles. We also offer armorer classes on a variety of guns. If you don’t see what you’re looking for on the training calendar, speak with our staff, and we’ll be happy to answer your questions. Here at Texas Gun Club, we want to help everyone be safe, competent, and knowledgeable about all aspects of their firearms.
Client Testimonials
Staff (Peter/Spoon) provided top-notch service, patience and ability to share knowledge.
My first purchase here was a very good experience and I expect many more to come from the Texas Gun Club. My direct engagement with the Gunsmith (Peter) by helping build out a product and staff (Spoon) by educating me was exceptional. I will be back.

I love the 50-yard long-range they have. The associate working the desk when I was there was extremely helpful. My CZ P10C was firing a bit off and when I expressed my concern, he immediately went out of his way to have a look, used his own ammo, and even took a fresh target to check what was wrong. He had the gunsmith inspect my firearm and it turns out the guide rod spring had come loose and was sticking out and they adjusted the screw. These guys treat you like family here. That’s why I drove 30 miles from spring just to come to this range.
